Hi, I’m Allie.
Let’s write stories that move people.
Sharing stories is fundamental for connecting with each other. My approach to developing and editing stories is strengthened by a decade of experience as an outdoor educator, where I learned to center warmth in each lesson. With Sunlight Editing, I guide writers and science-backed nonprofits to identify and develop their most compelling stories yet.
I’m a writer and editor who “gets it.”
I’m here for when it’s good, and I’m also here for when it gets tough. As a published author, I’ve experienced the critiques, the highs, and the lows that come with a creatively driven life. When stuck, I’m a big believer in the right mix of rest, guidance, and accountability.
I’ve taught writing at the college level, too.
I believe everyone should have access to the tools available to tell a good story. My writing background includes a master’s degree in English: Creative Writing, a Fulbright Fellowship, a Pushcart Prize nomination, and a Best of the Net nomination. It also includes a lot of walking outside, talking around campfires, and engaging in cross-cultural dialogue.
If you’re a nice human with a big vision or a bundle of ideas, I’d love to hear from you.
My Core Values
Three values anchor my practice.
I love connecting with people who are kind, generous, and community-oriented. These values also influenced my decision to support Patagonia’s 1 Percent for the Planet.
Compassion: Listen like everyone has a story.
Community: Seek and nurture spaces where stories spark connection.
Reciprocity: Care for people and the planet.
