Dozens of stories planted and published for Audubon Canyon Ranch
Our communications package elevated the online presence of this nonprofit. For over two years, we worked together to publish emotionally compelling stories that connect more deeply with their readers and amplify their mission.
Published stories include:
Jenny now helps thousands of people #getdecluttered
After weeks of solo editing, Jenny felt confused about her book. She could no longer tell what was good and what needed work. Within months, the StoryBloom package helped Jenny revise and submit her polished manuscript back to her university press.
Jenny’s book, Decluttered, is now widely available.
“Allie saved my book. Her support, insightfulness and talent were everything I needed.”
–Jenny Albertini
Emily’s first collection of poetry ready for the world
With StorySeed, Emily was able to polish her manuscript and confidently submit her work for publication–all before beginning her MFA program in creative writing.
Her debut book of poetry is scheduled for publication in 2025.
“Allie is empathetic and people-centered and held me accountable while also being understanding of life circumstances.”
–Emily Taha Burt

FAQs
How does the editing process work?
First, I read your draft for clarity and understanding. Then I begin to pinpoint where your story needs revision around pacing, plot, stakes, imagery, and characterization. Then I read parts of your story again, adding my feedback to your draft, usually via comments in a shared Google Doc or Word document.
On follow-up calls, we discuss suggested edits and address any questions. That way, you feel clear and confident moving forward.
What’s the difference between types of editing?
It depends on your goals. Developmental editing often focuses on how effectively your story uses craft elements like plot, pacing, conflict, characterization, and stakes. Copyediting focuses on the mechanics of language and considers elements like flow, syntax, tone, and grammar.
My mentorship style combines deep listening, personalized craft lessons, and ample “live” editing and brainstorming time.
Note: I do not copy edit or proofread manuscripts if they need significant developmental work or restructuring first.
What is your typical turnaround time?
I create custom editing timelines that require a minimum of a six-week commitment. This allows for a realistic editing pace and an altogether energizing experience, with ample time for guidance sessions and feedback.
For nonprofits, I require at least three months of commitment to ensure adequate time to plan and produce effective campaigns.
How much does the StoryBloom package cost?
This is a plush package where your creativity and stories become my #1 priority to nurture and grow.
To establish the cost, I consider factors such as:
Number and length of 1:1 guidance calls.
Total word count for your monthly submissions.
Estimated number of project hours this will take me and my team to complete.
Add-on services such as additional mentorship with industry experts.
